CLARITY FROM DAY ONE

Realistic costs. Considered timelines. No guesswork.
How much does it cost to build an architectural home?
There’s no fixed rate for quality — it depends entirely on the design, site, materiality, and level of detail.
Rather than guess, we engage independent Quantity Surveyors to prepare detailed, line-by-line BOQs. This allows you — and your architect — to understand costs early, plan with clarity, and avoid costly surprises later on.
Early Involvement Leads to Better Outcomes
Some clients come to us with full documentation and permits. Others engage us earlier, during design development — where we often add the most value.
We help align vision with budget, identify buildability issues, and ensure the numbers support the architecture — not compromise it.
We frequently collaborate directly with architects at this stage — not to interfere, but to help translate design intent into real-world construction strategy.
What Kind of Timelines Should You Expect?
There’s no one-size-fits-all, but as a reference:
-
Design & documentation: 4–8 months
-
Planning & consultant approvals: 2–6 months
-
Construction: typically 10–16 months
We take on a limited number of builds at any one time.
That means no overextension, no layers of middle management — just consistent focus and personal involvement.
A Truly Collaborative Build Process
Architecture is just one part of the process — delivering it takes a village.
We’ve spent years building trusted relationships with skilled trades: carpenters, bricklayers, electricians, steel fabricators, plasterers, renderers, painters, and more.
It’s not just the builder who brings a home to life — it’s the collective craftsmanship of everyone on site. We build with people we trust, and the difference shows in the final outcome.
Not Just New Builds
While we’re often engaged for full architectural homes, we also work on high-end renovations and extensions that demand the same level of precision and design thinking.
If the architecture is strong and the brief is clear, we’re open to it.
Start With a Conversation
Whether you’re still sketching concepts or holding permits, speak to us early. The more aligned the team is from the beginning, the smoother the journey becomes.
VHAUS isn’t here to scale. We’re here to build better.
